By Jennifer, Just A Regular Person Who Eats Plants
So, you’re probably thinking, “Vegans must be all about them veggies, right?” Well, let me tell you something. Even though I’m all in for eating plants, there’s some stuff out there that’s just… meh.
Okay, first things first. Just because I’m vegan doesn’t mean I have to like every veggie out there.
Like, come on, some are just plain weird.
Alright, here’s the deal. Those tiny cabbage lookalikes, Brussels sprouts? Not my jam.
They might be good for you and all, but man, they can taste funky sometimes.
Then there’s okra. Heard of it? It’s slimy.
Like, really slimy. I tried it fried, I tried it in stews. Still feels like I’m eating alien fingers or something.
I’ve chatted with a bunch of folks who eat like me, and everyone’s got that one vegetable they just don’t get.
Some can’t handle how bitter certain leaves are. Others just can’t do the whole beet thing.
But hey, that’s what makes eating fun, right? We all like different stuff.
Being vegan doesn’t mean you gotta like every plant on the planet. We’re all a bit different, and that’s okay.
Even us veggie folk have our likes and dislikes. If you’re not a vegan and you’re reading this, know that we ain’t eating the same salad every day.
There’s a whole world of tastes out there, and yep, that includes some veggies we’d rather not meet again.
Got an opinion on this? What veggie can’t you stand? Drop a comment.
And hey, maybe share this with your friends, vegan or not. Could be fun to see what they think.
